Bio
Illustrator and graphic designer, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, Florence Akyams interprets and poeticizes the scenes and figures of her daily life. Her style is lively, rapid, and raw. Motifs and characters interact, creating a colorful, heterogeneous, and plural universe. In 2018, she co-founded with Nola Nguessan & Audrey Kauer Elegbede Residences Art, a cultural and artistic laboratory designed to support and accompany emerging Brussels artists in developing their approach, conceptualizing, and gaining confidence & strength in their art and talent.
With a background in Applied Arts (STI Arts appliqués) in France and a degree from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, she naturally turned to illustration as a means of expression. The illustrations she creates outside of commissions speak of a feeling, a lived emotion. Characters are built intuitively by superimposing colors and patterns, creating scenes where the characters — most often female — take their place and come to life in a bubble of colors and patterns. Color and pattern become a safe space where the drawn figures can exist and express themselves freely.
Return policy
You can return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We will also pay return shipping if the return is the result of an error on our part (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of your package being delivered to the return sender, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly.
This period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the sender (5-10 business days), the time it takes for us to process your return once we receive it (3-5 business days), and the time needed for your bank to process our reimbursement request (5 to 10 working days).
If you need to return an item, simply log into your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link in the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We will notify you by email of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item.
Delivery
We can ship to virtually any address worldwide. Note that there are restrictions on certain products and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
When you place an order, we estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Please also note that shipping rates for many items we sell are based on weight. The weight of such an item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the nearest full pound.
