Angélica Machado (Tadó Chocó - Colombia, 1987) is a photographer, digital and textile artist, entrepreneur and psychiatrist focused on the advocacy of black and diasporic women from a personal discourse in which ancestral African heritage converges with the culture of her native country. Peaceful.

Its visual frames recover a pictorial register which extends the double digital dimension to the volumes of the textile through the monochromatic spots repeated in the same drawing, the charcoal strokes closest to freehand and the concomitances of colors which emerge from the motifs of his plan to assume corporeality. The fine line of the illustrated drawing reveals portraits of Afro-descendant women inspired by iconic, Afro-diasporic, Afro-punk reference women, real women. Hair, eyebrows and hairstyles as identity traits enhance and nourish frameworks that transcend the stereotype to give birth to strength in vulnerability, as if all were contained in a circle of care between the living and the palette of the terroir, bananas and vegetation native. The natives and experienced Africans of the Colombian territory of the South American Pacific symbolize these cultural passages through everyday objects such as fans, bags of fruit trees and linen, marimbas, drums, baskets. This universe of the senses brings together the vital force prior to the image, the path of a journey and the construction of identity through the visible as a signifying material. She traces a living poetry of a broader struggle, with women at the center and the updating of the ancestral in the Latin American present.

For Ukuta Lab, she presents 'Akeda' and 'Trenza' in 30x 30cm format.
