Book - The Mermaid and the Whale
The Mermaid and the Whale begins with “Krik, krak!”—the traditional Haitian way to begin a tale—and guides readers through pages of ocean blue. Djenane Saint Juste’s new children’s book, *The Mermaid and the Whale*, follows the arc of a beloved fable: A man travels to a distant island (this time called La Gonâve) to find gold, and with the help of two mysterious creatures, he discovers he already has everything he needs for a happy life. It’s a classic tale, one that teaches a good lesson, and in Saint Juste’s hands, it helps share her Haitian culture in a new way. The goal is both to educate and entertain, to encourage her audience to discover an often misunderstood country. She wants the world to know that Haiti is much more than poverty and natural disasters. She truly wants her readers to gain a different perspective and understand that Haiti also has many beautiful things to offer the world. Written in English, Haitian Creole, French, and Spanish, this wonderful cultural book invites readers to sing, dance, and discover more about Haiti.
Return policy
You can return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We will also pay return shipping if the return is the result of an error on our part (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of your package being delivered to the return sender, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly.
This period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the sender (5-10 business days), the time it takes for us to process your return once we receive it (3-5 business days), and the time needed for your bank to process our reimbursement request (5 to 10 working days).
If you need to return an item, simply log into your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link in the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We will notify you by email of your refund once we have received and processed the returned item.
Delivery
We can ship to virtually any address worldwide. Note that there are restrictions on certain products and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
When you place an order, we estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Please also note that shipping rates for many items we sell are based on weight. The weight of such an item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the nearest full pound.
